Best of · Social

The best social media data APIs seven networks, one price list.

The best social media data sources are Instagram and TikTok for creators and consumer brands, YouTube for video reach and LinkedIn for professional audiences, because each returns profiles, posts with engagement and comments from public pages. X and Reddit are best for what people say, and Facebook for pages, ads and events. All seven sit behind one account.

List prices are per record and some calls carry a minimum. Quote any call first with "estimateOnly": true: the quote is free and is the most the call can cost.

Each source, in order

1. Instagram

Profile cards for up to ten accounts, with recent posts in the same call, plus hashtag feeds, comments by post URL, follower or following lists and related accounts. A free history operation keeps followers, media count and engagement rate over time for accounts already held. Private accounts are out of reach.

2. TikTok

Posts carry views, likes, comments, shares, saves, sound, hashtags and duration. Search posts by keyword, hashtag or sound URL, find accounts by keyword, and read TikTok Shop products with price, sold count and stock. Follower lists cover up to five accounts per call, each row a full profile.

3. YouTube

Channel cards by @handle, channel id or URL, with recent videos in the same call. Each video carries views, likes, comments, duration and its publish date. There is no keyword search for videos, so you start from a channel or a video URL.

4. LinkedIn

Profiles with work history, company pages, people and company search, posts and post search, and who commented or reacted. Company-page posts are not served; a person's posts are.

5. X

Posts carry likes, replies, reposts, quotes, views, bookmarks and the reply or quote lineage. Search finds accounts or posts by keyword across all authors. The blue badge is reported as isBlueVerified, a paid subscription, never as identity verification.

6. Reddit

The post is the unit: score, upvote ratio, comment count and permalink on every row. Read a subreddit by hot, newest, top or rising, a user's submissions, or search all of Reddit by keyword. There is no profile card, because Reddit publishes none to measure.

7. Facebook

Page cards with followers, talking-about, reviews and contact details; posts with reactions by type; reels with plays; and every ad a page runs in Meta's Ad Library. Follower lists take at most three pages per call.

How to choose

  • Follow the audience: Instagram and TikTok for consumers, LinkedIn for buyers at work, YouTube for long video, Reddit and X for discussion.
  • Ask for profiles and recent posts in one call where the network allows it (Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube do).
  • Use the free history operations to watch growth instead of fetching the same profile every day.
  • Every row says when it was measured, so an agent can tell fresh numbers from old ones.

Questions people ask.

Can one API cover all these networks?

Yes. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Facebook all answer through one account and one balance here, with the same request shape.

Do I need accounts on each network?

No. Every operation reads public pages and never asks for a login, cookie or session.

Can I track follower growth over time?

Yes, for profiles already held. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook and LinkedIn have free history operations that read stored follower series. Reddit's history tracks post score and comment count.

Can I read private profiles or messages?

No. Only public data: nothing behind a login, no private accounts, no inboxes.

How is it priced?

Per record, with a list price per platform: Instagram from $0.00045 per record, TikTok from $0.00045 per record, YouTube from $0.00045 per record. Quote any call free with "estimateOnly": true.

The playground runs any endpoint by hand: pick a platform and what you want from it, fill a short form named in plain words (or press Use sample input), see the free quote on the Run button, run it, then read the answer as a table or JSON and download it as CSV or JSON. The same call is written out as cURL, Python and Node while you type.

Why people pick API for Agents

  • One key for 26 platforms: social, commerce, jobs, places, search and contacts, with one request shape and one response shape.
  • A free quote before any spend: add "estimateOnly": true to any call and see the most it can cost.
  • Pay per record in US dollars. No subscription, nothing expires, top-ups from $5.
  • $0.10 free to try, no card. An AI agent can sign itself up in one request; a person claims it later.
  • Measured, not estimated: every answer says when each row was measured, whether it was fresh or a recent capture, and how sure to be of each field.
  • Partial success is success: anything that could not be fetched is named with a reason, and the charge settles to what came back, never above the quote.
  • Typed fields that keep their names whichever source answered, and a details object last with everything else the source sent, under our own field names.
  • Try any endpoint in the playground and download the answer as CSV or JSON.
