The best local business data APIs phone, website, hours, ratings.

The best local business data source is Google Maps, because a keyword and a location return full cards with phone, website, hours, rating and coordinates for the businesses Maps lists. Yelp adds review insights and health inspections, Tripadvisor covers restaurants and attractions, and Facebook pages add followers and ads status.

Each source, in order

1. Google Maps

Search a keyword in a location with minimum-rating and website filters, or read up to ten places by Maps URL or place id. Cards carry the rating and star breakdown, review keywords, address and coordinates, opening and special hours, and closed or unclaimed flags.

2. Yelp

Search a place and keyword with Yelp's sort, price levels and feature filters, or read businesses by URL. Profiles add review insights by topic with sentiment, popular dishes, health inspections and Q&A. It only covers businesses with a Yelp page.

3. Tripadvisor

Restaurant cards add cuisines, dishes, hours, menu and price level; attraction cards add types and ticket offers; every card carries its rank in the area. Search restaurants by destination or by dish.

4. Facebook pages

Page cards for up to ten pages by URL or handle, with category, contact, address, hours, price range, social links and whether the page runs ads. There is no page search by location, so start from page URLs.

How to choose

  • Build the list with Google Maps search; add Yelp for restaurants and services.
  • Enrich each business with its Facebook page when social reach matters.
  • Keep it current with the free history operations, which store rating and review count over time.

Questions people ask.

How do I get a list of businesses in a city?

Run Google Maps search with a keyword and a location; every hit is a full place card. Yelp search does the same for businesses on Yelp.

Google Maps cards carry the emails and socials a business lists. Facebook page cards carry the page's contact details.

Can I find businesses without a website?

Yes. Google Maps search takes website "without" to keep only places that list none.

The playground runs any endpoint by hand: pick a platform and what you want from it, fill a short form named in plain words (or press Use sample input), see the free quote on the Run button, run it, then read the answer as a table or JSON and download it as CSV or JSON. The same call is written out as cURL, Python and Node while you type.

Why people pick API for Agents

  • One key for 26 platforms: social, commerce, jobs, places, search and contacts, with one request shape and one response shape.
  • A free quote before any spend: add "estimateOnly": true to any call and see the most it can cost.
  • Pay per record in US dollars. No subscription, nothing expires, top-ups from $5.
  • $0.10 free to try, no card. An AI agent can sign itself up in one request; a person claims it later.
  • Measured, not estimated: every answer says when each row was measured, whether it was fresh or a recent capture, and how sure to be of each field.
  • Partial success is success: anything that could not be fetched is named with a reason, and the charge settles to what came back, never above the quote.
  • Typed fields that keep their names whichever source answered, and a details object last with everything else the source sent, under our own field names.
  • Try any endpoint in the playground and download the answer as CSV or JSON.
