# App review monitoring. Google Play reviews, newest first.

> Pull Google Play reviews for your app and competitors by package id, newest or most helpful first, by country and language. Priced per record.

Canonical: https://apiforagents.dev/use-cases/app-review-monitoring · Updated 2026-10-21

Read what users say in the Play Store about your app and up to four others in one call. Sort newest to catch a bad release, or helpful to see what most users agree on, and let a model group the complaints.

- Reviews: $0.00009 per record
- Per call: Up to five apps
- Free to start: $0.10

## The workflow

1. Collect package ids or Play Store URLs for your app and competitors. Google search with site set to play.google.com finds competitor apps.
2. Run Google playReviews with up to five apps, sort "newest", and the country and language you ship in.
3. Run it again with sort "helpful" for the reviews other users agreed with, or "rating_high" for the praise.
4. Group reviews by theme with your model, and alert when the newest reviews turn negative.
5. Run it on a schedule from your own job, for example after each release.

## Who uses it

- **Mobile product teams.** See within a day of a release whether reviews mention a crash or a missing feature.
- **Support teams.** Find the problems users report in public and answer them before they spread.
- **[Competitive research](https://apiforagents.dev/platforms/google/play-store-reviews-api).** Read what users of competing apps ask for and do not get.

## Operations used

List prices per record. A call can carry a minimum, so quote first: the quote is free, and a record that does not come back is not charged.

| Step | Operation | What comes back | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Google search | Play Store pages for a query, with site set | $0.0009 per record |
| 2 | Google playReviews | Reviews for up to five apps, by sort, country and language | $0.00009 per record |

> **Quote, then cap the loop** Five apps at a full page each adds up. Quote with "estimateOnly": true once, then set "maxUsd" on every scheduled run.

## Why API for Agents

- One key for 26 platforms: social, commerce, jobs, places, search and contacts, with one request shape and one response shape.
- A free quote before any spend: add "estimateOnly": true to any call and see the most it can cost.
- Pay per record in US dollars. No subscription, nothing expires, top-ups from $5.
- $0.10 free to try, no card. An AI agent can sign itself up in one request; a person claims it later.
- Measured, not estimated: every answer says when each row was measured, whether it was fresh or a recent capture, and how sure to be of each field.
- Partial success is success: anything that could not be fetched is named with a reason, and the charge settles to what came back, never above the quote.
- Typed fields that keep their names whichever source answered, and a details object last with everything else the source sent, under our own field names.
- Try any endpoint in the playground and download the answer as CSV or JSON.

## Start

The playground runs any endpoint by hand: pick a platform and what you want from it, fill a short form named in plain words (or press Use sample input), see the free quote on the Run button, run it, then read the answer as a table or JSON and download it as CSV or JSON. The same call is written out as cURL, Python and Node while you type. Open it at https://apiforagents.dev/dashboard/run (sign in first).
